"Be Still! Just Wait!!!"

David was a teenager when he was Called by God to be the king. He wouldn’t see that calling come to pass until he was 30 years old. Those years in between were good and bad. He struggled. He lived in fear and dread. He hurt. He was confused by how a man he admired would want to kill him so badly. He felt alone many times. He became depressed. But he always turned his heart and focus back to The Lord and was renewed in his heart and soul, knowing that God was with him through it all. When David finally became king, he ruled for forty years. He wasn’t the king that Samuel had expected God to choose.

But God looks on the heart and not on the outward appearance. And with God- nothing is impossible. God called a little shepherd boy to be a shepherd over his people. But the time would be in His own timing.

Don’t give up on what you feel God has called you to do. This may be the waiting period. Just keep your heart and eyes focused on The LORD. Don’t let your circumstances get you down. Don’t become depressed and frustrated assuming you got it wrong. Be still! Just wait!!! I have been hearing that still small voice speak to my heart over and over again lately… “Be still! Just wait a while longer!” Be strong in the LORD. Be encouraging to others and let God use you in the waiting period. David wrote many of his best psalms during the waiting period.

“David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.” – 2 Samuel 5:4

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” – Psalm 27:14
