"Love Your Enemies" 

How do you feel when your enemy or someone who has treated you badly or even someone you just don’t like, gets sick or dies? Do you celebrate? Do you snicker? Are you happy about it? Do you hope for the worst? Maybe, those in authority getting ill brings you righteous happiness?

While David and his men were fighting the Amalekites, the Philistines were fighting the Israelites. There were many killed at Mount Gilboa. The Philistines fatally wounded Saul and killed his sons. Saul sought help to die and eventually fell on his own spear. The next day, the Philistines returned to loot the bodies. They found Saul and his three sons dead so they cut off Saul’s head and took all his armor. They also hung their bodies on a wall. Apparently, Saul was still clinging to life when a young soldier came across him and finished him off per Saul’s request. -  1 Samuel 31 and 2 Samuel 1

Did David and his men celebrate? Did they snicker and say “He got what was coming to him?”

NO! They were very sad. David tore his clothes, a sign of grief and his men did the same thing. They were sad and cried and didn’t eat anything until that evening. They cried not only because Saul and Jonathan were dead but they cried for The LORD’s people. They cried over the Israelites that were killed in battle.

We will not agree with everyone that we meet up with. Many just don’t know my JESUS. But sadly, there are people that are far off base with their thinking. Many people reject The LORD and some even say they Love The LORD but don’t believe in The Bible, not recognizing that if you reject The Bible you are rejecting The LORD. Either way, we are told to pray for those in authority. We are told to pray for our enemies. We are told to pray over those who do us wrong. We are not to snicker and joke about someone’s pain and downfall. You have no idea how much worse it can get.

Pray for your enemies and be Thankful for the Blessings of today.  We ALL need Jesus!

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust” – Matthew 5:44-45

He Restores My Soul

Scripture For The Day    November 14, 2023 "He Restores My Soul"  Psalm 23- Most of us know this beloved Psalm. The LORD is our Shepherd and we who believe are His Sheep. However in recent years, the label of ‘sheep’ has become a derogatory term. I don’t care. I am so very thankful that I am part of His flock. So, Baa Baa baby. Call me a sheep. I know that I matter to Him just as much as the other sheep in His flock. No more, no less. In His Word, His people are never described as lions. But as meek and dependent sheep that depend upon a Shepherd. I’ll take that any day. Because it’s The Truth. I learned this passage when I was a little girl. But no one took the time to teach me what it meant. So, I was always confused by the first verse” “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Why? I would ask The LORD? Why can’t I ‘want’ You? Aijeleth Shahar

  Scripture For The Day  November 13 th , 2023 "Aijeleth Shahar"  Psalm 22 has David assigning this song to the director of the corporate worship stating it is to be sung or chanted by “Aijeleth Shahar” translated means by the hind of the dawn or “The Deer of The Dawn”. Made me think of how sometimes there are little songs for kids to learn and they often use the tune of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” for them to learn them better. Psalm 22 is a cry of anguish and as per usual a song of Praise. And by the very first verse, we can read words that Jesus Christ, Himself, spoke on The Cross. Jesus often quoted scriptures.  “My God, My God, why hast Thou Forsaken Me? (why art thou so) far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?” You have no idea how deeply this verse spoke to me today. I woke up early this morning thinking of the word Forsake.
