Luke 14 part 2

"Be The Salt!" 

This next section is a little more difficult to understand and swallow. Many people were traveling with Jesus. He said to them, “If you come to me but refuse to leave your family, you cannot be my follower. You must love me more than you love your family. The scripture says the word ‘hate’ in verse 26. But this is not the hate that we think. It means a ‘lessor love’. Jesus is telling us that we are to Love Him first and the rest will follow. When we move our primary and first focus off of Jesus and onto our family. They essentially become idols in our hearts. Our cross that we are to bear is a personal cross that fits only the individual who carries it at any given time. We are to sacrifice our flesh every single day to Be a Light for Jesus. No matter what anyone else says, It’s not easy being a follower of Christ. People will persecute you. People will mock and ridicule you. People will get angry with you. But we are to count it all for the cost.

 We are to be strong witnesses for The Lord come what may. People are always watching. Always. We are soldiers on the battlefield. The flesh is continually warring against the spirit. That’s why it’s so important to make sure we are wearing The Armor of God. It’s heartbreaking when people turn against each other. We are to encourage each other. We are to understand we are different and have different opinions. We are to pray for each other. It’s not about me. It’s not about you. It’s about JESUS!

 Jesus continues by telling us that “Salt is good: but if the salt loses its savor, we can’t make it salty again. It’s worthless. ”vs 35 says “it isn’t even fit to use as dirt on the dunghill. People just throw it away.’ Jesus ends this moment with “he that hath ears to hear, let him hear.’ (People, listen to me)”

If we, as Christians, stop living for Jesus, we are like the salt that has lost its flavor. Every Child of God is called to Shine His Light for the lost world to see, like a Lighthouse on the rocky shore. We are to be a Beacon of Light so that the lost will see Jesus in us and be saved from ultimate destruction. Every single Christian is Called. You are CALLED to Shine The Light of Jesus. That is your First and Foremost Calling.

Be Encouraging. Be Thankful. Be Loving and Merciful. Be The Light! Be The Salt!

What You Say Is True!

Scripture For The Day    December 23, 2023 – Luke 23 part 1 "What You Say Is True!"  And the whole multitude (The entire Sanhedrin (council) 70 men) arose and took Jesus to Pilate. Jesus had two trails (if you can call them that). One Jewish/Religious and the other Roman/Secular. Rome was the only authority to execute. So, they had to hand Him over to the Romans to get what they wanted. Pilate was in Jerusalem at the time for the Passover celebration. Then Jesus was sent to Herod for questioning. Then back to Pilate for the final hearing and verdict. It was quickly done and through the night and unusual to have the trials through the night with the crucifixion the same day. The accusations were lies and exaggerations, except for One that He was and is The Son of God. There was no blasphemy about it. Scripture For The Day   Luke 12 Part 1 "Consider The Lilies"  In the meantime, thousands of people had come together. So much so that they were stepping on each other. Jesus had just left a Pharisee’s house that was more concerned with ceremony than with a relationship with Him. Jesus turned to His followers and spoke “Be careful of the leaven of the Pharisees- they are hypocrites. Nothing will stay hidden. All will be revealed. Fear only God. He is in Control.
