Well Done!
Scripture For The Day
December 17th, 2023
Luke
17 part 1
"Well Done!"
Jesus
said “Things are going to happen that will lead people to sin. But woe to him
that causes others to sin. It would be better for that person if a millstone (a heavy
circular stone used for grinding grain) were hung around his neck and he is
thrown into the sea than for him to cause little ones (believers; could be new
Christians) to sin. So, be careful! If your brother or sister in Christ does
something wrong, warn them. If they are sorry, forgive them. Even if it means
forgiving them seven times in one day. If they repent, forgive them. (And this
is why, I continue to forgive)
The
apostles were convicted and asked The Lord to increase their faith. Jesus said;
“If your faith is the size of a grain of mustard seed, as long as it is Faith
in The LORD, nothing is impossible with God. Even a little faith can bring big
miracles.
Jesus begins to share a parable with a lesson that a servant shouldn’t expect a special reward for doing what his job is. There is no retirement for a Christian. We don’t have to be thanked for living for The Lord. It should never be about accolades, applause, or plaques. But doing what The LORD has put on our hearts to do and getting the job done. This parable reminds us that it is an honor to serve The Master. Our reward is to come in heaven with
“Well done thy good and
faithful servant”.
Later
on, Jesus was heading to Jerusalem, and He passed through the midst of Samaria and
Galilee. While entering a certain village, Jesus was met with ten lepers from a
distance. They began crying out to Him; “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” And
of course, Jesus had compassion and told them to go to the priests to be
approved as was the custom before they could enter back into society. On their way to the priests, they were cleansed.
When one of them noticed he was healed, he turned back and shouted with a loud
voice, Glorifying God, and fell down on his face at the feet of Jesus, thanking
Him. Jesus asked “Where are the others?
The only one to return to give Glory was this stranger; (He was a Samaritan)
And Jesus told him, “Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.”
Well Done
