Two Are Better Than One

Image
Scripture For The Day  November 17, 2022 "Two are Better Than One"    Relationships can be tough sometimes. But God created relationships. We were never meant to be alone. We are meant to encourage each other.  A conversation I had on the phone yesterday reminded me of how important is to encourage each other, even via a cell phone. Whoever is on the other end of that line has feelings, just like you do.  They matter. Whether it be via a call, a text, or a social media post, they matter as much as you do. In order to make it real, we need to ask ourselves would we respond differently if we were in the same room? Chances are, you would. It’s easier to ignore or be hateful when you don’t acknowledge the person on the other end of the phone as being someone who has feelings. Yesterday, I had to deal with some business over the phone. After, approximately three hours and five different people it was finally done. For the most part, they were all friendly and profess...

Abide In Him

Image
Scripture For The Day  November 16, 2022 "Abide in Him"    Love, what’s Love got to do with it??? I wish I could say it has everything to do with it.  But that is not what this old world wants. It is not what satan wants. He desires for us to live a life of selfish desires. But Love should be at the root of every decision we make. We are commanded to abide in The Love of The Father.  It is a command and a promise all at the same time. In John 15:9-10 His Word emphasizes to abide in His Love. The Greek word for abide is meno which means to stay in place.  But to understand what this Love means we need to recognize that this reference to Love comes from the Greek word- Agape.  There is no other love higher than Agape. No love on this earth compares to Agape. That type of Love can only come from above.  Jesus shares with us in verse 9 that just as The Father Loves (Agapes) us, so does Jesus Agape us. In that, we can put our trust, our security, and...

Scoot Closer to The Driver

Image
Scripture For The Day  November 11th, 2022  "Scoot Closer to The Driver"  A question I was asked in my personal bible study this morning was “What do you need from The Lord right now?”. I understand the point the author was trying to make. But when I read it, I immediately thought, The Lord has already won The Victory. He has paid it all. He has Forgiven me. He has Redeemed me. He Loves me. The Holy Spirit resides within me. The better question would be “What would The Lord like from Me, right now?” The answer? More of my attention. More of my heart. More of my trust in Him. More of my focus. More of my Praise. More of my time, Now, that being said, I’m so Thankful that I can go to Him every day and seek Him. He wants me to bring my concerns to Him. He wants me to desire more of Him. He understands my tears. He Blesses me each and every day. Yes, I have The Holy Spirit but He can pour even more Blessings down upon me than I could ever imagine when I draw closer to H...

A Revolution and A Revelation

Image
Scripture For The Day  November 10, 2022 "A Revolution and A Revelation"    Before The Holy Spirit came down and resided within the souls of the saved, the disciples were still working for Jesus. They were still preaching The Word. They were still speaking for Jesus. But it wasn’t until that moment of the indwelling of The Holy Spirit that they finally became who The Father knew they could be. That is why Jesus had to go home. He knew that we would need The Holy Spirit within us to thrive. The disciples were a band of misfits that messed up over and over again. Just like us. But when The Holy Spirit got a hold of them, they became spiritual spitfires for The LORD which led to a revolution and a revelation of Jesus Christ for the world to see. Now, the Holy Spirit indwells in every single believer of Jesus Christ. But have we grown deaf and numb to His tugging upon our hearts? I believe so. I believe we have allowed the world to creep into our homes, into our schools, an...

Come Home!!!

Image
Scripture For The Day    November 8, 2022 "Come Home!"    Unforgiveness will lead to bitterness and broken relationships. Absalom had held his temper long enough to what his half-brother had done to his sister. After two years, Absalom had Amnon killed. But then he knew he had to flee from his father. King David was angry with Absalom for killing his brother. At first, Absalom was heartbroken. He wanted to come home.  Joab, King David’s second in command was getting tired of seeing David mope about the situation and still refused to let Absalom come home.  So, Joab sent a woman to pretend to be distraught with a story that was similar to the same situation that David was struggling with. The story worked and David agreed to allow Absalom to come home.  This could have been a picture of Jesus Christ for us as a lesson. But this was different. This was stubbornness and pride. David agreed that Absalom could come home but refused to let him back into hi...

You Are Loved

Image
Scripture For The Day  November 3, 2022 "You Are Loved"   One of the most difficult scriptures for me to read is 2 Samuel 13. Amnon, David’s firstborn son had watched his father get everything he wanted. His father was married to different women and had children with concubines. So, they had a lot of half-siblings going on. They grew up in a lot of confusion.  Amnon began to lust for his half-sister Tamar. Through some bad advice he was given, he raped his half-sister. She begged him not to do it. Then immediately when it was over, he hated her and blamed her for the situation. So, she was treated like trash, right after she was raped. The violation continued. Absalom her full brother was furious upon furious. He took her into his own house and he let the anger fester until two years later he had Amnon killed. Now, David was furious as well but this is the part that breaks my heart more than anything. He did absolutely nothing. No reprimand. No dis...

Lift Us Up

Image
Scripture For The Day  November 2, 2022  "Lift Us Up!"   *Lord, lift me up, and let me stand by faith on Canaan’s tableland; a higher plane than I have found, Lord, plant my feet on higher ground* The Book of Ezekiel mentions The Holy Spirit several times. Three times, he specifically mentions that The Spirit lifted him up. But I want to focus on Ezekiel 2:2 “And the spirit entered into me when He spake unto me and set me upon my feet, that I heard Him that spake unto me.” Ezekiel had previously been given an Awesome Vision from God. Which resulted in him falling down on his face in fear, respect, and adoration as Ezekiel worshipped God. But then God speaks. He tells Ezekiel to stand up, for He was getting ready to give him a message. However; Ezekiel couldn’t stand on his own. He must have been emotionally and physically drained from the visions that God had just sent him. It reminds me of being in a worship service in which you have no doubt experienced the full pr...

Be Vigilant

Image
Scripture For The Day  N ovember 1, 2022 "Be Vigilant"    He stands in the middle of the crowded room and feels like no one sees him at all. He’s invisible. At least that’s what it feels like. Despite her insecurities, she shares her heart but then no one responds, only…crickets.  They are showing up but are they learning? Are they growing? Or are they leaving longing for more? And with even more questions?  This is not the world. This is the church. The enemy is on the warpath and his goal is to keep the family of God too busy for God’s Word. What better way to keep people from growing in His Word than to keep them distracted with things that don’t really matter. His goal is to make people feel unloved and feel like they don’t belong and keep them from growing in The LORD. Keep us distracted so we won’t see what is really happening. Keep us from reaching out to others. Keep us from caring when someone hurts. Keep us from digging deeper into The Word of...
